Use a spoon to combine all ingredients and then pour the vinegar cleaning solution into your mop. It may take several passes to get the floor clean but the mop is safer for your floors. For deeper cleaning you can use a steam mop very sparingly on laminate floors. For a deeper cleaning use a damp cotton cloth or cloth mop. You can use a window cleaner occasionally for spills but don t over use ammonia which can strip protective sealant. Not daily though because the repeated use of steam can cause the laminate to buckle.

Steam mops create too much moisture for laminate floors which are often manufactured with a compressed fiber particleboard layers. Try cleaning the floor with a vinegar water mix or one of the other cleaners as described in our guide how to clean laminate flooring. For steam cleaning tile floors or your laminate mix the water rubbing alcohol and vinegar in a mixing bowl and then add in the dishwashing soap. If your floor is looking dingy use a mop and some elbow grease to clean it.

For tough spots such as oil paint markers lipstick ink or tar use acetone nail polish remover on a clean white cloth. Start in the furthest corner and work in sections until the entire floor is clean. Clean the floor routinely to remove dirt and dust by sweeping vacuuming or damp wiping. Avoid oil based cleaners as they can leave streaks that are impossible to get rid of.

For this type of floor you can steam clean it occasionally. Always remove grit sharp objects staining agents moisture or aggressive substances from the floor. Laminate isn t as strong as other flooring options and it s easily damaged by devices like steam cleaners buffers and polishers. Be sure to dry the floor immediately after steam cleaning with a clean dry microfiber cloth or mop.

The steam can cause swelling and warping of the product. Steam cleaners are exceptional at getting dirt and grime off laminate floors. But the water resistant laminate floor contains waterproof material in the core layer. Never allow liquids to stand on your floor.

Laminate floor containing laminate planks are not suitable for steam clean because moisture can quickly go through this floor and damage it easily. Use a steam mop occasionally for a very deep clean.
